The UPVI has issued an official statement condemning systemic corruption in the country amid reports of alleged ghost and anomalous flood control projects in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
In its statement titled “Panawagan ng mga Nagsanay Makidigma para sa Inang Bayan,” the UPVI denounced corruption as a betrayal of the nation that weakens governance, deepens poverty, and erodes public trust.
The organization urged vigilance, transparency, and accountability across all sectors of government and called for the immediate passage of long-overdue reforms such as the Freedom of Information and Anti-Dynasty laws. The statement was signed by Guido Alfredo A. Delgado, Chairman of the UPVI Board of Governors, and Luis Juan B. Oreta, National Commander.
